So, what comes next?
Waiting for your entry
We'll give you updates and information in the ANNOUNCEMENTS channel as your date to arrive gets closer.
The weekend before your arrival we'll open up a series of WELCOME channels for you to read the rules and guidelines of being a BA student (you'll have a few days to go over these before your tour).
At various times an admin will give you more tips on your entry. You only get 1 week to take the tour so try to make time so you are not removed from the server for ghosting.
Please take your time and read everything with care and patience, many questions are answered at length in the welcome channels.
If you have gone through all the welcome channels you'll have a tag that lets us know you are ready for your invitation — make sure your DMs are open during that time — we send a personal 24 hour invite to the BA server via DMs when the time comes.
If you don't accept the invite during the allotted time, you have to wait 1 month until the next batch of students enter.
I got in! Now what?
The first thing you will see is one welcome channel that is a repeat of everything you previously read. You have to wait 10 minutes from your arrival time before you can do anything, so use that time to review the rules and guidelines — there will be an emoji for you to click to confirm that you read and agree to these rules which will make you a NEW STUDENT.
You will have another channel to go through to tell us your pronouns, which chunk of the world you live in, and to change into your "uniform" which is the standard nickname system of BA.
We will then ask you to either confirm you are a BEGINNER in the Korean language (an absolute beginner who is either just starting or has learned the hangul alphabet and a few words and phrases) or if you know more.
If you can read and write whole Korean sentences, we will ask you to take a placement test to understand where on the student ladder you should start your climb to know more. (Some choose a lower level than they get so they are more comfy with the studies available — some even wait to take the test — no one here will rush you).
Then you take your tour!
Taking a tour
Tours are a series of videos that explain how to get started at BA — how the server works, how to navigate around, how our classes and clubs work, and everything else related to BA. All tours are entirely in English. 한국어로 투어도 가능합니다! 우리 팀한테 연락하고 편한 시간에 해드립니다.
Tours take around 30 minutes to watch. You have 7 days to complete a tour, after which you will be given your BA MEMBER role and will be able to see a lot of the channels. From there — you're off! Join clubs and check out what classes will be enrolling new students soon!
The ANNOUNCEMENTS CHANNEL is your lifeline to the server — everything is announced there, so please check in on it every few days. If you ignore it, you may be too late to meet a deadline which can result in being dismissed from the server.
On that note: remember that this is an active server — you will have to meet a study quota each month to stay, so make sure you have the time and ability to do it. We do make exceptions for life throwing you a curveball, but that should be an unplanned or expected but workable event (like moving, or college finals), not an excuse to skip classes.
Remember!
✦ If you need more time off you can always leave the server and return when you are ready to study once more.
And that's it! After tour, you will be able to access everything we have to offer and sign up for classes right away! Happy learning everyone 💜
Schedules
We open for applications once a term on the first Saturday (January, May, September) at 9am and 9pm US-CT (Chicago time). If this varies due to holidays or BTS events, we will always let you know when in advance. We open TWO 5 minute invites to our BA ENTRANCE server (where you apply to be a student) on Twitter.
TIP!
✦ We highly recommend using a time/date calculator to figure out your timezone so you can arrive early.
Once in BAE, that's it. You can relax and read all the things. You will have 1 week to read the rules and guidelines of our server before the applications will open - this way you can relax and know you are in line to apply.
We invite students in cohorts of 200 seats a month, 3 times a term - meaning 600 total. There is a bit of a line formed to get in - please don't be discouraged, you are still on your way to learning with us - plan ahead!

Some last reminders
Please only try for a seat if you're serious about learning Korean with us. So many people join BA, then end up leaving the server after a day or 1 month (realizing that they don't actually have the time). When you do this, you're taking a spot from someone else who really wants to learn and only needs a little push.
If you just want to click the invite links to lurk our server, you won't be able to. We have a very high verification process that requires patience and time. You'll only have access to the entire server once you take a video tour with our staff.
And lastly, apply now if you want to get in later. Not gonna lie folks, the line is getting a bit long - we're grateful to be a fun place to study but we also don't want to overwhelm our teachers and staff. We also want you to have a great student experience so the aforementioned numbers are the limits we set for each month. As we grow, we continue to add new/more classes to make room for new folks but 200 new students seems to be our happy medium. Just know you'll be in soon!
